Birthday Weekend

This weekend my family came to town to celebrate my birthday. JC and I went to our first movie since November! It was so awesome! And we both slept all night since there were many people around willing to stay up with Luke. It was a great birthday weekend! Luke is back to his birth weight and almost 3 weeks old! He's starting to be awake a little more during the day. JC went back to work this week, so Luke and I have had some good quailty time together.

JC and I took Luke on his first walk around the neighborhood last week. It was a short walk, since mom is so out of shape!

Guess where I am....again

Well, I'm back in the hospital. Friday I came down with a fever of 104 and intense kidney pain again. We went to the dr. and I was put on some antibiotics, but by Saturday I was feeling even worse, so I was sent to my favorite place...St. Vincent's. I've gotten pretty friendly with most of the staff.

The last few days have been rough. I'm on some iv meds and they seem to be helping. I had another cat scan late last night. I was told that my kidney might be blocked from scar tissue and if that's the case, then the infection wouldn't clear and I'd have to have another stent. But God is good. The scan came back that although I still have alot of swelling in my kidney, there is some drainage getting through, so the infection should be able to pass.

No one really knows what to expect from here on out. The whole situation is complicated. I've heard alot of different scenarios from I should be fine in a week to I'll have a stent for the rest of my life. It's been really hard to be away from Luke for the past few days. His Nana has been taking great care of him at our house and JC brings him to visit me everyday. Obviously I'm ready to get home. I'd appreciate your prayers. I so much want to feel normal again without stents and medication.

HALLELUJAH!

My stent was finally removed yesterday! It took alot longer than they anticipated. They had some trouble getting ahold of the stent and it was way worse than giving birth. (I wish they had given me an epidural yesterday...ha ha) The urologist asked me is I wanted to save it for the baby book. Gross! I have been REALLY sore for the past 2 days, but so far I have had not had the same level of intensity with the pain. The doc says the soreness should go away within a week and he's "cautiously optimistic." I also had a cat scan. My right kidney looks good, but apparently I have 2 stones in my left kidney. (God has such a great sense of humor.) The stones are small, and should pass on their own...hopefully without me even noticing!

1 week old already!

It's been a GREAT week! We came home late on Easter Sunday. The past few days have been tiring (of course), but so much fun. JC and I are so proud of ourselves for keeping Luke alive for a whole week! He's a really good baby. He's been eating well and today we have our first dr. appointment. (Finally an appt. that's not for me.) I have been feeling alot better. Still having some kidney pain, but not nearly as bad. I get my stent out on Monday and hopefully after that all will return to normal! Thanks for all of your prayers for the past 4 months. They are working!

Almost there...

My last pregnant picture!



Things are FINALLY winding down. I had my last OB appt. today. The baby still seems to be doing great, but I keep getting told that my body is "unfavorable" for a natural birth. Big surprise. And I have another stent infection. More pills for me to take...fun! Apparently pregnancy and I are not the best of friends. It doesn't like me and I'm not a fan of it either. I go in tomorrow evening to be induced. My OB says we are going to give it our best shot, but the way things look, she's expecting a cesearean. Obviously no one has a crystal ball, so anything could happen. At this point I could care less how the baby gets out. I'm just ready for him to be born. Either way, he'll be here by this weekend.

We will post a picture of Baby T soon after he arrives. Hopefully you can check our blog this weekend and we'll have some good news. Thanks for the continued prayers. I have a feeling we're going to need them over the next few days.

JC's New Job!

You may have heard of God and his perfect timing. Well, He's done it again. JC has been searching for a job in Indianapolis for quite a while. It has been on our prayer list for what seems like forever. It always seems that when you stop looking for something, you find it. In the midst of the craziness of my pregnancy, this company called him out of the blue. He had submitted a demo reel over a year ago when they had no positions, but now one had become available and they remembered him. He interviewed in February and they offered him the job on the same day! The name of the company is Innovative. He'll be starting on May 1st and will be doing the same type of things (2D/3D graphics) that he did at Purdue. Can you imagine how much money we'll save on gas when he's not driving to Lafayette everyday? Too bad we'll be spending our savings on diapers!

JC is really excited about this new opportunity. Everyone at this company has been really nice and it seems like a perfect fit for him. They've been very helpful with our current situation and even pushed back his starting date until we've had the baby and gotten settled. Of course, he's really sad to be leaving Purdue. He works with his best friends everyday and the change will be difficult.

God has been so faithful to us and continues to bless us in the big things and the small things. So cool!
