A Luke update
WHAT A CUTE KID! He still thinks he is a super hero. Actually today he was a ninja turtle and I was informed that I should only address him as Leonardo.

D-R-O-O-L spells Emerson
This is what I deal with all. day. long. I've never know a baby to drool so much. She goes thru so many outfits changes that I'm beginning to get a sense of what things might be like when she's a teenager. I just hope the drooling has stopped by then...

This was taken 30 minutes after she was dressed.

The monkey and the bug
This "little" monkey is 7 months (almost 8!) old! She is absolutely precious and the best baby! She's got the sitting thing down good now. And she can get on all fours, but thankfully isn't crawling yet. I'm not sure I'm ready for that stage. It is nice that she has a whole new perspective on life from the seated position. She can play with toys and watch her brother better. She basically smiles all the time and is pretty vocal. We hear the d-d-d sound a lot.

Lukie Bug is such a good big brother. He helps me when I need a diaper for Em. He pushes her in the swing (which she LOVES!), plays with her, and is pretty good about sharing (her toys anyway).

Comic Con Day 5
LAST DAY of this incredible vacay!
It started off with breakfast at The Broken Yolk Cafe. If you watch Man vs. Food, you might recognize the 12 omelet challenge that Adam competed in. We did not partake in the challenge, but we did sit right by the wall of fame!

JC and I headed over to comic con (again) because apparently we hadn't gotten enough comic action yet. We went through the exhibit hall one last time...
Green Lantern...

The Captain's Shield.

Check out the bedazzled storm trooper's helmet!

Something from the movie THOR?

And Thor's hammer...

Then we met up with the Moore's at Old Town. It was fun to tour the village and we ate some delicious Mexican food. Yum!

After Old Town, the boys wanted to head back to Comic Con. Oh my gosh...they seriously wanted to go back? So, Amanda and I found the pool at the hotel and laid outside to read. It was the first relaxing thing we did all vacation. ha ha! We crashed early and flew back home the next day.
Happy 30th birthday JC (and every birthday for the rest of your life, cause we sure as heck aren't doing that again anytime soon!) Love ya!

Comic Con Day 4
Saturday morning, we were in line by 6 a.m. The first panel wasn't until 11, so we had a LONG wait. But it went by pretty fast when since we were playing euchre with friends and people watching!

This was a GREAT panel day! We started off with Green lantern featuring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong. Ryan was just as gorgeous and funny in real life. A precious 10 year old asked him "what was it like to recite the Green Lantern Oath?" It was so cute. Ryan said "Would you like to hear it?" You should have seen that little boys face...priceless!

After Green Lantern, we saw the kid who plays Draco Malfloy and some unseen footage from the next 2 movies. The trailer looks amazing!!! I haven't been a big fan of the movies, but I think the next 2 are gonna be sweet. Then Zach Synder (who did 300 and Watchmen) was there with Vanessa Hudgens, Jaime Chung, and Jena Malone (who didn't stop talking). They have a new movie called Suckerpunch. The girls hadn't seen any footage of themselves yet, so it was cool to see their reactions to the trailer he showed.
This is Chloe Moretz. She was Hit Girl in the movie Kick-ass (which is a GREAT movie if you don't mind vulgarity and a lot of blood). She's going to be in a new vampire movie, called Let Me In. It's a totally different kind of vampire flick...super creepy looking. Richard Jenkins was there too...very fun!

Next up was a 3-D Trailer Park...

We were totally pumped for the next panel which was for Resident Evil. Amanda, JC, and I have seen all of these movies together. They are great kick butt girl movies! This panel had Milla Jovovich, who was CRAZY! Most of the celebrities were pretty cool, calm, and collected. But Milla was straight hyper. She had so much energy and was really funny. We love her. Ali Larter, Paul W.S. Anderson, and Wentworth Miller were there too.

Now, here's where it gets CRAZY! There was a 15 minutes break between each panel. Immediately after the Milla panel ended, a guy 2 people away from JC, IN OUR ROW, collapses. I thought he fainted, until we see a dude on top of him, stabbing him in the eye with a pen! WHAT???? It was CRAZY! Another dude, jumped n top of the stabber and got him in a choke hold to the ground. We were all standing on chairs screaming "Security!"and no one came. JC ran up to the front stage where the security was guarding celebrities and got a dude. They came back, handcuffed the 2 guys involved, roped off 5 rows, and made us leave the area.
We were like "awwww! we waited in line at 5 a.m. to get these seats!" So, we wandered up to the front of the hall and sat down in the reserved for film executive seats. A lady came by and asked us for our reserved seat tickets, which of course w didn't have. But we explained that the stabbing took place in our row and she said, "Oh! That's fine then...just stay here." We could NOT believe our luck. Anna Kendrick, from Up in the Air, was right in front of us! They were amazing seats! So, we got to stay there for the rest of the panels. Thank you stabber!
The next 3 panels were HUGE! First was a movie called Paul, featuring Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, Sigourney Weaver, Joe Lo Truglio, Jeffery Tambor, Simon Pegg, and Jason Batheman...AND THEY WERE ALL THERE! This movie is like a love letter to comic con, so you can imagined how geeked out the crowd was. Plus Sigourney is like a the comic con queen.

From here on out, people were going crazy and screaming their heads off. I'd like to say that we played it cool....but that would be a lie. Jon Favreau came out to introduce Cowboys and Aliens, which looks AMAZING! It's a western with sci-fi. They'd only been shooting for a month, but they footage they showed was so intense and like nothing I've ever seen. I can't wait till it comes out! So, Jon moderated his own panel. He brings out DANIEL CRAIG! James Bond himself...hello! Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell followed. And then, they bring out HARRISON FORD!
Ok, just remember, I am in a sea of geeks who WORSHIP Han Solo and all things Star Wars. And then they bring out Harrison Ford, THE HAN SOLO....for his first ever comic con debut. Oh. My. Word. People went NUTS! It was really awesome to watch. What was really hilarious is that Harrison came out in handcuffs, escorted by security...as if he were the stabber from earlier. So funny!

Last Panel of the day...MARVEL. This was the ONLY panel JC really cared about, and we were sitting so close. It was awesome for him. First up was Captain America. Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving came out. And they showed the first look of Captain America in costume. They had only been shooting for 8 days, but they showed us the footage. Marvel really knows how to make movies.

Next was THOR. Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman were there. Very cool! And they showed the first trailer for the movie. Again, it's going to be AWESOME!

And for the finale, (we had hoped all day for this), Samuel L. Jackson came out and introduced for the 1st time all together, the entire Marvel world of characters for the Avengers movie that will be out in 2012. The geeks all lost control. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. It was probably the happiest moment in JC's life...and that includes marrying me, the kids being born, and the hawks winning the stanley cup this year.

Robert Downey Jr. - Iron Man (who told us to not stab anyone until he was done talking), Clark Gregg - S.H.E.I.L.D. agent, Scarlett Johansson - Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth - Thor, Chris Evans - Captain America, Sammy J - Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner - Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo -Hulk, Joss Whedon - Director

Comic Con Day 3
Day 3 of our awesome trip actually had no comic con stops. It was kind of a nice break. :) We started off the morning (up at 6 a.m.) with nothing to do until this U.S.S. midway opened at 10. So, we walked down to Seaport Village, where nothing was opened and then kept on walking around killing time. We found a huge statue of this iconic picture from World War 2. JC and I put our own spin on it...

Next, we hit up the U.S.S. Midway. The three of us had been there 4 years ago, but Adam had never been. We were so excited to take him to it because funny enough, it was Amanda and I's favorite part of our last trip to SD. JC had to drag us there on trip 1, but this time, we were dragging the guys.

Luke saw this picture and wanted to know why we were in jail...

After the Midway, we had lunch on the water, and the headed to a matinee of Salt and some shopping. That evening we went back downtown because we heard that the TRON thing (that JC had gone to the night before) was open to the public. On our walk there, who do we see, but Tyrese! (Transformers actor and all around hottie)

JC was super stoked to share his TRON experience with us. The arcade was open to everyone and all the games were free. Plus Coke Zero sponsored the event, so all drinks were on the house. That was the highlight for this coke girl!

Amanda and I had a BLAST (can you sense the sarcasm?) watching the boys play video games :)

We ended the day with dinner in Little Italy!

Comic Con Day 2
Friday morning, we were up and out of the door by 6 a.m. The plan was to go with our besties, Adam and Amanda, but their flight was cancelled the night before! Ugh! So, we had to entertain ourselves and stand in line for 4 hours in order to get into the famous Hall H. Hall H seats 6500 people and is where all of the big movie panels and movie stars are during Comic Con. Crazy people (like us) wait in line forever and once you're in, you stay in! If you leave for any reason, you have to stand in line all over again and may never make it back. The movie panels ran back to back from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Every panel had a moderator who would direct questions to the stars and directors. Then the audience could ask questions and they also showed tons of footage from their movies that no one else has seen yet. On Thursday, we stayed until 2 and by that time, The Moore's had arrived. So we left Hall H and met up with them!
Here we are at 6 a.m.!

1/20th of Hall H...notice how long the line is for the men's room. Probably the only event in history that the men's line was ALWAYS longer than the women's!

The first panel was Megamind with Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill. Notice, that Will came as his character. They were all just as funny in real life. Will brought one box of donuts for breakfast for all of Hall H.

Next up was JC's most anticipated panel...TRON. If you haven't seen the original 1982 flick, you should. It was basically the first movie to use computer graphics and pretty much inspired JC to go into his line of work. So, you can imagine how thrilled he is about the sequel (28 years later!) The director even recorded all 6500 of us saying certain things to be used in the movie. Here's Jeff Bridges...

Olivia Wilde...

The original Tron, Bruce Boxleitner...

Next was Guillerrmo Del Toro, who is rebooting a movie from the Disney ride, Haunted Mansion. He actually said, "We won't be taking calls from Eddie Murphy"...ha ha!

We were soooo excited to see the panel for Salt. Angelina Jolie was there! As was Liev Schrieber!

Next up was Battle: L.A. It looks like an amazing movie! Here is Michelle Rodriguez, who was quite feisty!

And Aaron Eckhart...

After we left hall H, we finally met up with our friends and toured the HUGE exhibit hall together...It was awesome to see all of these people dressed up and get pictures with them. I'm so mad that we ddn't get a picture with Doug Jones. We actually met him! He was the silver surfer (fantastic four) and abe sapien (hellboy). Doug is from Indianapolis and is friends with a friend of Adam and Amanda's. We just happened to run into him in the Hall and he was so cool! He totally had a crush on JC and was rubbing his head. Ha Ha!

The best part of the day came in the evening. JC signed up for these TRON tweets. He kept getting texts that would say "Be 1 of 32 people to run to Broadway and B streets, Take a picture with the red lightcycle and then run to (another location)." We never were able to go, but right after dinner, we were downtown and he got another tweet. So we started walking in that direction and all of the sudden, we see a few heavyset, geeked out guys running. So, JC and Amanda take off. Adam and I are running too, but we had all just eaten and were wearing flip flops, so we were struggling! We're cheering JC on and he makes it to the lightcycle. Amanda runs to the next location to save him a place in line. Meanwhile Adam and I are screaming at JC to outrun the geeks. It was hilarious! He finally made it and was the 2nd to last guy before they cut off the 32 people. I like to think that it was a team effort.
Here's the lightcycle...

Pretty winded after that run!

He ended up getting a light disc that's actually a USB...very cool. It had pictures and the new trailer on it. But the real prize was 2 wrist bands for an exclusive TRON party that night. I feel awful, but AC, Adam, and I were soooo exhausted from the day, so we totally crashed. And poor JC had to go to the party alone. I dont think he cared too much though...he was in TRON heaven! And a bunch of the cast was there. He forgot the camera, BUT we ended up getting to see this awesome TRON location on Friday, so I took pictures then...
