Fresh air...
It has been a great couple of days for playing outside! Last week, we made chalk paint. I got the idea from Mom's Marbles. It's basically just cornstarch and water. Then we took a watermelon break. Luke is obsessed with watermelon! Yesterday he ate 3 enormous slices. I guess he'll stay hydrated this summer!

Luke's new playset
My whole family came in town this past weekend to build Luke a playset! My dad built 2 playsets for John and I growing up, and he really wanted to build one for Luke this year for his birthday. I asked him if he wanted to buy a kit, and he said, "where's the fun in that?" He built the whole thing from scratch, with a little help from my brother, JC, and JC's dad. He loves to build things and he's a perfectionist. The 2 day project actually took 4 days and he worked until 11:30 last night, but it's a masterpiece and Luke totally digs it. In fact, he played outside swinging and on the slide for 2 hours this morning! We still plan on staining it eventually. And my Dad wants to build a deck underneath for Luke's picnic table to sit on, as well as install the 2nd swing. Thanks Dad for all of your hard work!
Starting the project...

All of the posts are up...

My silly husband wanted this picture taken...

End of Day 3...

Siding up...

Slide ready for action...

The finished project!

Luke enjoying some sun on the deck this morning!

Is it May already?
This year is flying by! I can't believe it's the middle of May already! We've been busy between work, Young Life, friend time, family time, and oh yeah...having a BUSY and hilarious 2 year old boy.
Here are some of the funny things Luke has said recently...
JC: Luke, you have a booger in your nose.
Luke: Yeah! A cheese-booger!
As we were driving past a pond in a neighborhood.
Luke: Look, Mommy! A fountain.
Me: Yeah cool.
Luke: How bout we get across.
Me: Great idea. How?
Luke: How bout we use a boat!
He's also been into the phrase, I need it. But it's pronounced more like, I neeeeeeeed it. He uses it for everything. I neeeeeeeed a cracker. I neeeeeeed my blankie. I neeeeeeed my milk. Typical 2 year-old. He thinks he has ownership of everything he sees.

Happy Birthday to me :)
My amazing friends and husband planned quite the party for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. There was even a theme...High School Musical! :) We went to a movie, followed by my favorite restaurant, Adobo, and ended with cards and dessert at our house. Thanks JC, Warners, Notty's, and Cullum/Moore's!!!
