My budding artist

Luke received an art easel from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. He LOVES it! We see new masterpieces on a daily basis. No doubt about it...JC's artistic genes were passed on to this kid. As I'm typing this, he is working on a drawing of Joker (he has combined his 2 favorite things...superheros and drawing!). The portrait below is of me. :)

12 month Emerson update

I can't believe how quickly this year has gone. Wasn't Emerson a newborn last week? We LOVE our little girl. She is at such a great age! She can do all kinds of tricks...so big, waving, clapping, blowing kisses. She imitates everything Luke does. She's finally pulling up and starting to cruise a bit. I'm hopeful that she'll walk by age 2. :) She's not quiet and she definitely keeps up with her big brother, which is quite impressive!

Emerson is ONE!

We had a wonderful party with all of our family on January 2nd. Emerson had a GREAT time. After all of the Christmas present practice, she did pretty well opening her birthday presents. :)

Our wonderful Christmas break!

Christmas was so much fun! We went to church in Indy at Redeemer, woke up Christmas morning at our house and opened presents with the kids. Then we headed to Lafayette for a few days to spend time with the Trombley's. And ended the week with a few days in Newburgh with the Neireiter's. Then it was back home to de-Christmas, put away our bazillion new toys and get ready for Emerson's 1st birthday! Whew! Here are some highlights!

Christmas Eve

Luke was so excited that Spiderman left him some new slippers under the tree!

Thanks for the sippy cup, but can I please have some milk?

Before we could stop her, Emerson had grabbed a cookie off of Santa's plate. :)

Lafayette was super fun! Highlights include: watching JC and Luke fight over who gets to play with the transformer toys (they were Luke's), dinner with the Clark crew, seeing the McDowell's, hearing the Grinch, taking Luke to Tangled, and opening presents!

Our final leg of the Christmas journey...Newburgh! Highlights include: Hacienda, an Allen/Hooper reunion, JC seeing Tron (again), Carol sing with our family friends, playing lots of games, and opening MORE presents!

A portrait of ME!

It's the first portrait that Luke has ever made of me! I may not have a head, but look at my gorgeous long hair. :) He started to draw a smile and then said, "wait. you need a mean face." Gasp! I'm sure he was just kidding.
