My parents came up to stay with the kiddos and my dad drove us to the airport. We left Wednesday afternoon.
I ordered tickets for the entire convention, which included a special preview night. So we headed straight to the convention center when we landed. I have NEVER seen anything like comic con. Imagine swimming in a sea of the geekiest (and nicest) people you'll ever meet. The convention center is over 11 football fields long and it was covered with over 5,000 booths and 120,000 people. When we first arrived, we registered, got our badges and they handed out swag bags that were bigger than Luke.
We spent the next hour walking around the exhibits in awe. It was so overwhelming. Here are a few shots from that night...
This is Odon's throne from the new Marvel movie, Thor, due out next summer. Some guy dressed like Tony Stark was getting his picture taken on the throne. In case you care, Thor is in the same world as Iron Man and there will be a collaborative movie called The Avengers out in 2012.
